Lloyd Evans Prichard were appointed as conservation consultant to Manchester City Council in connection with HLF Urban Parks offer for repairs and rebuilding of 4.5 mile long boundary wall, which was completed in 1998 to a value of £1.9m.

Also within the Park we have been responsible for the design and specification of repair and re-use proposals of five listed lodge and park buildings to the value of £2m, in conjunction with an entire landscape refurbishment of the Park. The HLF part funded the project, along with Manchester City council, which completed on time and within budget.

The two lodge buildings and the (remains of) the Dower House were designed by Wyatt. The buildings were derelict following years of disuse and vandalism. Each building required masonry repairs, new lead roll roofs, slate roofs and careful recreation of joinery based on remains of windows and doors.

New electrical and mechanical services were carefully integrated into the structures. The Dower House is now a centre for the Manchester Bee Keepers' Society. The two lodges are let as holiday cottages.

The former stables, a large building surrounding a courtyard, has been similarly repaired and now provides park offices, cafeteria and educational accommodation.
