Lloyd Evans Prichard were assigned church architects in 1999 and in that time have completed two phases of repair works to the roof, roof timber structure and substantial window repairs, all with grant assistance from English Heritage.
Work on the building has commenced once again, although this time following a disastrous arson attack which has destroyed large portions of the church fabric. The entirety of the organ loft, organ, the chancel roof and south transept roof were destroyed, along with widespread substantial damage throughout the rest of the church.
The initial recording and dismantling of the remains of the east end is now complete, with a programme of substantial rebuilding and cleaning scheduled to run through to 2009.
