Holy Trinity Dobcross is a small late 18th Century place of worship located in the small village of Dobcross near Saddleworth.

Lloyd Evans Prichard became involved in 1999 when it became apparent that there was a significant and active outbreak of rot which was likely to compromise the whole building. After an initial inspection, a thorough condition survey of the building was carried out that identified and prioritised the repair work needed to conserve the fabric of the building.

Grant aid was secured from English Heritage and, in 2002, the first of what will be several phases of conservation works began with the re-roofing of the Nave and Tower.

A further second phase followed in 2004 when the Chancel was re-roofed and work on the west end including the tower was completed.

Holy Trinity Dobcross appeared, at first sight, to be soundly constructed. However, following considered investigations it became evident that it had been extended, altered and repaired with varied levels of skill historically, and some of these works were likely to compromise the building's long term viability.
The view however was taken that these elements formed an integral record of a small village church and should be preserved so the building's authenticity could be properly interpreted. This involved imaginative solutions by the whole design and construction team to ensure that this important and valuable building could be handed on to future congregations intact.

Although already active, the building work has acted as a catalyst for the community who have been encouraged to become thoroughly involved in their building and to view it as an asset to be enjoyed rather than a liability to cause angst.
