Townscape Heritage Initiative (THI)
The THI scheme is a Heritage Lottery funded scheme which aims to restore dilapidated historic structures/buildings on a streetscape, regenerating areas which are architecturally and historically important to the particular town or village, but have suffered from lack of maintenance or more serious problems of deterioration.
The schemes focus on envelope repairs of the external fabric of a building, restoring the architectural aesthetics and enhancing the outward elevations.
Lloyd Evans Prichard have been involved in several schemes of THI regeneration, including Queen Street, Rhyl and other projects within Denbighshire.
General Improvement Areas (GIA)
The GIA is a government funded scheme which similarly aims to raise the quality of the environment by overhauling the external envelope of the buildings. In many cases this work was undertaken within conservation areas and here Lloyd Evans Prichard supported the project team acting as consultants. We produced full drawings and specifications for these projects, a number of which were in Denbigh.
